This review takes a closer look at the features this bike has to offer, as well as making some important comparisons between the other two upright bikes in the collection.
Design features
If you’re looking for an exercise bike to use at home but don’t necessarily have the budget or need for features on their higher priced models, Tunturi have also included a design that’s priced much more towards entry level. The Tunturi GO Bike 30 is an upright bike that features a similar frame design and set of features as the two later models (GO Bike 50 and GO Bike 70). In terms of the bike design, there’s really only one noticeable difference.
This is that the tension control adjustment has been attached externally, partly due to the fact that you can only choose from 8 resistance levels, as opposed to the 30+ that are available with the other bikes in the range.
Aside from the resistance control, there are many other design features that will appear similar, including the ergonomically shaped handlebars, adjustable support feet, walk through frame, and the comfortable gel seat that adjusts both horizontally and vertically.
However, there are also some important differences between the display console attached to the Tunturi GO Bike 30 and the consoles attached to the other two bikes.
Tunturi Go Bike 30 – Features Summary
- Flywheel: 6kg
- Rotating Mass: 11kg
- Resistance Levels: 8 levels of magnetic resistance via quick twist dial
- Low step through frame
- Manual adjustment – no mains power needed
- Seat Adjustment: horizontal and vertical
- Seat pad: Gel seat for comfort
- Handlebar Adjustment: Angle

Display console design
Although there are certain small differences in the frame design, the display console is really where you would feel the difference in your workouts.
If you’re simply looking for a way to track basic workout information, such as speed, distance, time, and calories burned, then due to the lower price, the Tunturi GO Bike 30 may be a better fit than the other cycles in the range.
However, there are a couple of benefits that you will need to get used to training without. The first is the backlight for the LCD screen. Rather than being full colour and backlit, the screen for the GO Bike 30 is limited to a more monochrome design. In terms of the actual display console functions, although you do still have the ‘Recovery’ option as a form of fitness test, you lose the ‘Body Fat’ option (calculates your BMI).
One final difference we wanted to mention was in the way the display console is powered. Unlike the self generating power supply provided by the 70 model, the Tunturi GO Bike 30 relies on 2 x AA batteries to display workout information on the LCD screen.
Preset workout programs
Unfortunately the collection of preset workout options is another of the areas where the Tunturi GO Bike 30 offers less variety than the 50 and 70 models.
Despite the fact that this is the lowest priced upright bike in the entire GO Collection, we were hoping to see at least 10 preset workout options. This would have been much more in line with what we’ve come to expect from the likes of York Fitness (York Perform 220 offers 19 workout programs) and Kettler (Kettler Cycle P offers 12 training programs).
But it’s important to remember that having a more limited range of preset workout programs needn’t necessarily affect your routine.
Between the 8 levels of manual resistance, heart rate hand sensors, and Recovery fitness test, you still have enough functions to put together a challenging and effective set of trackable workouts each week.
Ease of assembly
As we mentioned in other reviews of the GO Collection, it’s clear that a great level of thought has gone into making sure the user manual, and most importantly the assembly instructions, are easy to follow. This is because Tunturi combine more than one style of instruction into the step-by-step process. Not only do you have a full parts list, complete with part reference numbers and a text version of the assembly that’s required, you also have access to exploded drawings that have been colour coded for clarity.
If you want to take a look at exactly what we mean by this, feel free to download your own copy of the user manual.
With most of the larger parts already arriving pre-assembled and the high quality assembly instructions, this is a bike that can be setup and ready to use in less than 40 minutes.
Tunturi GO Bike 30 vs. GO Bike 50 vs. GO Bike 70
With such a difference in features between the Tunturi GO Bike 30 and the other upright cycles in the GO Collection, we thought it might be useful to have a comparison table, for clearly identifying the differences between each model.

Tunturi GO Bike 30 - £279.99
Overall Review Rating: 4/5
If you're looking to upgrade from one of the compact folding bike designs, or simply need an indoor cycle to start your first fitness program, the Tunturi GO Bike 30 will be the ideal choice.
Despite not providing the same variety of workout programs as later models, you do still have a range of resistance settings to progress through, as well as the heart rate monitoring function.
The simple display console functions are easy to use, and powered by batteries so you don't have to worry about positioning the bike near a power socket.
Subtle design features like the gel seat and low step through frame also count towards making your workouts more comfortable and enjoyable, as well as making it easier to get on and off the bike.
Had the console been loaded with a few additional workout programs we would have been happy to award an extra half star to our rating.
We decided on a rating of 3.5 instead of 4 due to the fact that similarly priced bikes offer many more workout options. This doesn't take anything away from our opinion of this being a high quality indoor exercise bike, particularly as it's backed by such an impressive warranty.
